Once in a lifetime a website comes along which makes you think anything is possible. Which inspires you to pursue your own dreams. To become the person you've always dreamed you could be. Yes, after inspecting this site, you will believe in the impossible. Because if this guy can make a website, believe me - literally anyone can. Down to and including plankton. The site seems to concern itself with something called a "Spectrum". Assuming this "Al" person hasn't just made all of this up, one wonders just who he thinks he is talking to. He seems very content with his lot in any case, taking each and every opportunity to crack Dad jokes, whose quality varies wildly from rubbish to not very good. Then there's the look of the thing. Is it easy on the eye and a pleasure to behold? No. The site seems to take a childish glee in using garish, nightmarish colours. If hot pink, dark blue and sickly cream are prevalent on your living room walls, you'll love the heck out of this. And this Al clearly can't afford to splash out on any more colours, so get used to it. Oh, and the excessive use of outlandishly colourful screenshots (of what I'm not sure) only adds to this whole 'bad trip' effect. At least the layout of ZX Spectrum - It Lives!!! must surely be straightforwardly standard? It's not like you can get that very wrong. But wait. Part 1, tragically only one of 5 so far, goes on...and on...and on. One colossal never-ending scrolling experience which will leave you a dizzy wreck. Sure, he's got content coming out of his ass (sometimes literally I sense) but does he have to blurt it all out all at once? Have some decorum, man! After writing the earlier paragraph, I have consulted with a weird 'friend' of mine who supports Mr. Al's claim that this Spectral doobrie actually exists. He says that such a site, if it wants to be taken seriously, should focus on the established classics, like Jetpac, Manic Miner and Elite. I name-checked some of the titles mentioned on Al's site, and this drew only blank looks from my acquaintance. Clearly this Al doesn't know his classics from his duds. In conclusion, seriously, what is this guy thinking? I think he owes everyone an apology for being so overindulgent (cough). He'd be better off growing up and reading a Jack Reacher book. Sometimes being different isn't a good thing. Dont give up the day job, assuming he has one. 5%
